Alison & Jake are some of the most kind and laid back people you’ll ever meet. After our initial meeting, I knew this was going to be a fun wedding that focused more on celebrating and having a great time no matter what. And, thankfully, this outlook on their wedding day allowed them to enjoy it despite the torrential downpours that hung over Kansas City for most of the day.

Plans changed from doing their first look and all of their couple and bridal party photos outdoors to working within the space at 2016 Main (thankfully it’s a beautiful space!), but Alison & Jake and their entire bridal party just went with it. We even ventured out in the storm and found a little shelter under a bridge for a few pictures.

After a heartfelt ceremony, there was a break in the clouds and we were able to take advantage of the gorgeous evening light and snapped those first pictures of Alison & Jake as a married couple. Their joy, love and fun personalities (along with their awesome bridal party) made this wedding such a light-hearted and memorable day.
